Class Descriptions

Kid Star Soccer places emphasis on personal growth and enjoyment rather than competition and game performance. We use games that are fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate for each age. It is a fun way to introduce kids to soccer until they are older and more developmentally ready to play in the traditional game setting of soccer.  Each class is designed for the kids to get several touches on the ball so their skill level and confidence can grow throughout the season. We focus on competence and confidence before competition. Students can begin classes at any age, choosing their age group.  Please bring your own soccer ball (size 3) to class.

Age 4-5: Classes are 45 minutes long. We use a wide variety of games where kids use their imaginations to teach important skills. We will cover skills such as balance, coordination, dribbling, shooting, and ball control. The purpose of this class is help your child become comfortable controlling the ball, learn to operate in a group setting and to learn to follow instructions from a coach. Your child can wear regular tennis shoes for outdoor use for this class. Please bring your own soccer ball (size 3) to class.

Age 6-8: Classes are 45 minutes. This class has more activities that resemble a traditional game-like setting, but with a focus on individual skill growth. We will cover skills such as coordination, ball control, and scoring. This class introduces the 1 v 1 (one attacker against one defender) situation with goals to teach kids the fundamental game setting. Your child can wear regular tennis shoes for outdoor use for this class. Please bring your own soccer ball (size 3) to class.  We will make adaptations to these lessons plans for our summer camp.
